Things always get delayed. Having been delayed once, they get delayed again. Soon another project or another report is now delayed. Why?
Relax. It’s not just you. Almost everyone is like that. Why?
Whether it is a term paper at school, a report at work, a project you’re managing, or a renovation you are making. You are delayed. Why?
Of course, in the end, you manage to cut some corners and manage to somehow meet deadlines. Well almost.
Not to accept there will be delays is wishful thinking. It is prudent to assume things are more likely (or surely) will be delayed.
There is one (and only one) way to protect against delays. To think through what the delays might be, and prevent them. Otherwise, we are doomed to react to delays after they have occurred. That’s the way of the amateur.
